Cookie policy
This page lists what Taxi Foundry stores on your device, who puts it there, why, and for how long, and how to choose. It covers cookies and similar tools such as local storage.
The short version
Without your yes, we store only what the site needs: to keep you signed in, to remember your language and theme, and to remember your cookie choice. With your yes, we also use Google Analytics to count visits. We use no advertising cookies and no tracking across other websites. You can change your choice at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
What is stored without asking you
- __Host-account — keeps you signed in to your account; only the server can read it, never a script — up to 7 days without use, 30 days at most — us
- rt_in_account — a small marker (just the number 1) saying that this browser has a signed-in account, so a page can show “Profile” instead of “Create account” — 8 hours — us
- lang and theme (local storage) — your language and your light or dark choice — until you clear it — us
- rt_consent (local storage) — your cookie choice — up to 12 months — us
- Reload marker (session storage) — stops a page from reloading again and again after a site update — until you close the tab — us
- Sign-up check — on the sign-up page only: Cloudflare Turnstile tells people from robots, and may store a small value to do it — until you close the tab — Cloudflare
These do not need your consent, because the site cannot work without them or you asked for them.
Google Analytics, only if you accept
- _ga — tells apart the visits of one browser — 13 months
- _ga_ followed by an identifier — keeps the state of a visit — 13 months
Google Analytics 4 is provided by Google Ireland Limited for visitors in the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the United Kingdom, and by Google LLC elsewhere. If you accept, Google receives the page you view, when, your browser and device type, your language, an approximate place worked out from your network address (Google Analytics does not store the address itself) and a random identifier. We use it to see which pages are read and where visitors come from, not to know who you are.
We switched off Google signals, advertising features and ad personalisation, we keep the data that can be tied to a browser for 2 months (reports that only add visits together stay longer), we send it nothing from inside your account pages, and we have accepted Google’s data processing terms. Google may handle the data in the United States: see how Google uses data and Google’s privacy policy. You can also stop it on every site with Google’s opt-out add-on.
Other services that may store something
When you pay by card you are on Stripe’s own page, which has its own cookies: see Stripe’s cookies policy. Cloudflare, which runs the network in front of our site, may set or read small values for security, for example to stop attacks. Your browser and your device keep their own data (such as a security key or a saved form), which we do not control.
What we do not use
We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, social-media pixels or share buttons that load from other companies, fingerprinting of your device, recordings of your screen, fonts or maps loaded from other companies on our pages, or tracking images in e-mails.
Your choices
The first time you visit, a small notice asks about analytics. “Decline” and “Accept” are equally easy to choose. You can change your mind at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or the Do Not Track signal, we start with analytics off.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. The site still works, but you may be signed out. If you clear the stored cookie choice, we ask you again.
Servers and logs
Like any website, our servers receive your network address and browser type when you load a page. Our web server does not write an access log. Short-lived technical logs (up to 14 days) are kept for security and for fixing faults, and Cloudflare also sees requests because it runs the network in front of the site. See the Privacy notice.
Changes and contact
If we add or change what we store, we update this page, and we ask you again where the law requires it. Questions: taxifoundry@gmail.com.
